The Patagonia Slingshot Down Vest

Photo of the Slingshot Down Vest from Patagonia.com
Patagonia has done a nice job with their lifestyle line this winter. The Slingshot Down Jacket and Vest are great casual outerwear pieces that look great in a lot of different situations. The vest has a western slant to it that is a nice variation on the run-of-the-mill down vest. I think I would like it more if it had a zipper as well as the buttons, but for the first edition of this vest, it's nice.

I found some non-Patagonia-stock photos that give an idea of the detail. I love the khaki color of the vest in the photos below but it seems like it would show dirt pretty quickly. Anyway, I like coming across non-stock photos as they often give a better idea of actual fit and finish.

  1. Love the vest, but the sizing was a bit off. Bought the Orbit Blue in a Medium and it fit more snug than other Patty gear. Looking for someone to swap with who bought it in a Large and finds it too big.

  2. Interesting Bobby and thanks for the comment. It seems like maybe they are sizing things down a bit. I found the sizing for the Quilt Again Jacket to be much more snug than their other items and that jacket, like the Slingshot, supposedly has a "Regular Fit" according to Patagonia.com.

I'm currently interested in the Slingshot Jacket (has a bit more coverage in the back and a more casual style than the Patagonia Down Jacket I have)--wondering if the size issue is the same for the jacket.
