Coming Soon to the Patagonia Community: the Pat Com Patagonia Down Jacket Review!

I'll give the skinny on the mother of all down jackets: the Patagonia Down Jacket. I picked one up recently for a song (if anything can be considered a "song" in these economic times). Look for a detailed, in-depth review, in keeping with other Pat Com reviews (like my review of the Patagonia Critical Mass and the Down Vest).

How much is a "song" in this case? I just bought one also (in the old North Sea color which looks awesome). Can't wait to receive it. Not a bad price, too.

Hi SFH,
So you pulled the trigger on a Patagonia Down Jacket too? My total cost was $118.97. There was no tax and it had free shipping. Mine was black which I've found to be difficult to find around sale time. The North Sea color is great. I had tried on an Eco Rain Shell in North Sea and really liked it. I've been happy with my down jacket but haven't really had the opportunity to use it in truly cold temps (mainly 40s and 50s). Thanks for checking out my blog and come back often. I'll get around to reviewing the jacket pretty soon here!

Cool. Yeah, mine is $120 total. Can't wait to try it on. We'll see if temps in the DC area drop again. Black is never on sale, it seems. I was told it was because it is a color that continues every season unless they are discontinuing the item. Where'd you grab yours?

I got mine at altrec.com. Yes, black is a continuing color for Patagonia (as it is for most retailers) so I felt good about finding it. I was at the Palo Alto store in January when Patagonia was having its 30% off sale and they checked the computer and said black was gone everywhere. Patience paid off as the black one came around again AND at a cheaper price.

You probably feel this way too, but I think the Patagonia Down Jacket (in any color) is a classic piece that they'll probably make forever and will never go out of style. And if I had to put money on it, I'd bet temps will drop again in DC!
